The legalisation of soccer betting has given rise to another thriving industry - the publication of football betting guides. There are now at least five magazines in the market, including Soccer Supreme Weekly, Golden Odds Magazine and Esource Big Match Weekly. Golden Odds was in business well before the August 1 legalisation of soccer bets in Hong Kong. For six years it has offered advice to soccer punters with the Macau Jockey Club. 'The new magazines and daily newspapers do not affect our business that much because those who have been reading it will continue to do so,' said editor Dominic Wong. Esource Big Match Weekly, one of the new magazines, has sold about 4,000 copies a week since its launch on July 29 . The company has offered telephone tips on soccer matches on the day of the match for $10 a minute for the past five years. Its profitability has varied according to the quality of the tips, according to its editor-in-chief.
