Triad leader sought over yuen long arson attack Police are searching for an alleged leader of a triad faction in connection with an arson attack on the home of a newly elected village head in Yuen Long. The suspect was not at home yesterday when police raided his home in connection with the firebombing at Kuk Tau Kiu Tsuen. The attack happened at about 3am on Monday. A firebomb was thrown into the village head's yard but he and his wife were on holiday on the mainland. His 21-year-old son put out the fire. Appeal over elderly man missing for a week Police appealed for information about a man who went missing in Tseung Kwan O on August 27. Wong Kam-chuen, 63, is about 1.7 metres tall, of large build, with a dark complexion and short white hair. He was wearing a yellow and black striped T-shirt, grey shorts, white socks and black shoes. Anyone with information can contact police on 2666 4499. blitz on illegal workers Immigration officers conducted a two-day operation against illegal workers, arresting 15 people, all but one of them mainland visitors. The visitors - nine men and five women, aged 22 to 55 - were found working as garbage collectors or selling second-hand appliances and mobile phones. 24 arrested for gambling Fourteen men and 10 women, aged 30 to 57, were arrested in Yuen Long on suspicion of illegal gambling. All were freed on bail. They were allegedly found playing pai kau (Chinese dominoes) in Tai Fung Street, Yuen Long. Gambling paraphernalia and about $4,700 in cash were seized. woman leaps to her death A woman jumped to her death from Ting Kau Bridge, abandoning her car in the Kowloon-bound lane. Police found the body of Yu Yuk-wah, 44, floating under the bridge at about 3.30am. A suicide note was found in the car, and police say they do not suspect foul play.
