Details on how the telecommunications market on the mainland will be opened to Hong Kong companies under the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement are to be unveiled by the end of this year, Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology John Tsang Chun-wah said yesterday.
Mr Tsang, who is on a working visit in Beijing, said the mainland authorities had adopted a positive attitude towards opening the market to Hong Kong firms after a meeting with Minister of Information Technology Wang Xudong yesterday.
He said experts from both sides would soon discuss the technical details of the issue.
Mr Tsang also discussed matters relating to Cepa with the director of the State Council's Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, Liao Hui.
Mr Tsang is scheduled to meet vice-Minister of Commerce An Min today.
