Q Is too much being spent on the Harbour Fest?

I think it is outrageous that local artists are being asked to appear at this Harbour Fest nonsense as 'patriots'. Appealing to patriotism and supporting Hong Kong is just a load of waffle.

Asking our artists to appear without fees demeans their profession and undercuts promoters of future entertainment events. All such events involving professional artists and entertainers should be left to professionals who know what they are doing, have the contacts and are familiar with the appropriate talent fees.

The Rolling Stones are, quite frankly, has-beens and the US$5 million fee being offered is just too much. Who - unless one is overly nostalgic and does not actually remember how horrid the 1960s really were - wants to pay outrageous sums of money to sit and watch someone as old as or older than myself?

And who on earth wants to listen to Britney Spears? Like the local group Twins, she is without talent.
