A SOLICITOR facing 22 theft and deception charges yesterday asked the High Court to stay his prosecution, claiming the Crown had not disclosed all relevant information for him to prepare his defence.
Choi Sze-fai, 32, is due to stand trial in the District Court next January.
He sought a stay after he said the Crown failed to reply to his request for information.
Choi, who represented himself, said he was in an unfair position, and called on the Crown to give him the documents.
Senior Assistant Crown Prosecutor Andrew Bruce said full disclosure would be made to Choi well before the trial. But he said investigations were still going on.
In refusing to grant a judicial review, Mr Justice Mayo said the Crown was prepared to comply with the legal requirements before trial.
