Zhang Yue (above), the host of CCTV's Half the Sky, is not afraid to speak her mind. You can tell she loves her job and likes to talk about it. She films short TV documentary series on women in China, going from place to place to search out ordinary women and reporting their lives faithfully and honestly. Like Oprah Winfrey, she finds herself getting caught in their lives, and thus, their problems. 'China is in a transformation stage, where there are many changes occurring every day. Women's lives are thus very diverse, and I would like to record these changing times.' And, like Oprah, she suffered from being overweight and came out of her shell in a big way. 'I am aggressive like an eagle, because I was forced to be timid and shy when I was young and overweight. My dream was to be invisible. I wore only blue and gray clothes in order to hide myself. 'My turning point was when I graduated when I realised I should not be ashamed of myself. I snapped out of it and began to wear bright colours, and made exaggerated gestures.'
