It was a bit of mix and a bit of mingle. In celebration of the grand opening of the Hong Kong flagship Bally store in Central's Prince's Building, socialities, fashionistas and, most importantly, shoe-lovers came out for the free champagne and the trendy footwear.

The new store has a minimal feel with subtle touches of wood giving it a warm feel. It was the perfect venue for a retail splurge. Shoppers united to snap up the shoes, and 20 per cent of the sales were donated to Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, whose chairman, Ricky Yeung, made an appearance.

Gucci's Mimi Pun also showed up and spent time chatting with Bally chairman and chief executive Marco Franchini, who flew in from Switzerland for the occasion. It turns out they worked together in a previous Gucci life.

Also in attendance were Audrey Ai, a heavily pregnant Tansy Tom, Charles Yang Chuen-liang, and Arcadia Huthart. We are happy to report that there were no shoe box incidents or any mis-sizings during this event.
