Lai Man-wai (1893-1953), (right), was a film and stage pioneer in Hong Kong who at the peak of his career had seven studios here, in Shanghai and Tianjin. To commemorate the 110th anniversary of his birth, there is an exhibition of his personal artifacts, a series of lectures and four of his films, including the 1927 silent feature Romance And The West Chamber, one of the earliest martial-arts movies. $30 Urbtix.
