The Hong Kong Jockey Club has offered a $100,000 reward for information that will solve the mystery of Cupid's positive test to heroin. The reward was posted late yesterday for any member of the public who contacts the club's security department with 'specific information' leading to the identification of the 'culprit responsible for introducing the prohibited substances to Cupid' and a final resolution of the matter.
'Because heroin is regarded as such a dangerous substance everywhere in the world, everyone here felt that we needed to go the extra mile to find out where this came from,' said Jockey Club executive director of security, Tim McNally.
The reward has been offered after consultation with the police, whose investigation of the matter has also failed to turn up answers. 'We may get people who know something and are willing to testify. We may get anonymous callers,' said McNally. 'When you don't have a lot to go on, you have to do what you can. Hopefully, there is someone out there who can put us on the right path.'
