Companies in Hong Kong like to take out big newspaper ads to congratulate the motherland on National Day, and Body Charm, a beauty products firm, was no exception. Most of these ads appearing on Wednesday were a dull affair, but the labels on the products featured in Body Charm's ad were intriguing, and a bit alarming. Pictured were the Breast Augmentation Serum, Cellulite Eraser, Tummy Flattening, Bust Booster and Lip Explosion. The company's website says the breast serum is trademarked in the US, and the scientific test that led to the trademark makes a fascinating read. 'Female subjects (between 18 and 51 years old) were given two unmarked bottles, one containing the active formula, and the other containing a placebo,' the website says. 'The subjects were completely unaware which bottle contained the active formula ... but not for long. By the end of just one week, something remarkable happened: each and every volunteer noticed that one of her breasts was larger than the other!' I hope no one sued.
