Looking at the black-and-white cover of Welsh trio Stereophonic's latest record, You Gotta Go There To Come Back, may already leave you feeling nostalgic. And this is just the kind of mood the music is trying to create. The band's fourth album, containing rock numbers such as the opening track Help Me (She's Out of Her Mind), Madame Helga - the first single from the album - Jealousy and High As The Ceiling are all filled with guitar riffs reminiscent of 1970s rock. While Madame Helga is not a bad track, the rest are fairly unimpressive. It's just annoying listening to frontman Kelly Jones singing 'Help me! Oh, help me!' over the same riff for the whole six minutes of the opening track. The new single, Maybe Tomorrow, is smooth and catchy and one of the best tracks on the CD. But compared to the band's previous albums, this record is definitely not up to standard.
