It looks like Christopher Doyle will miss his own photo exhibit this week in London.
The exhibit, 'There is a Crack in Everything', at the Scout Gallery near Hoxton Square, will have everything but the artist himself. Collections of photographs taken on film sets over the course of 20 years will be on display, all featuring Doyle's 'trademark lighting and intense use of colour'. Themes of red, from the headboard of Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love (pictured), blue from the tiled table of Away with Words, green from the wallpaper in an ad for Yohji and yellow from images in the movie 2046 will all be used in a photobook that is due off the presses tomorrow. Doyle is proving his commitment to Wong Kar-wai's labour of love, 2046, which they are working on in Shanghai. Just when will he be free? Doyle replies: 'Doubt I will be free of 2046 before that date.'
