Deutsche Bank post for Murray

DEUTSCHE Bank confirmed yesterday that Simon Murray, former managing director of Hutchison Whampoa, would join the bank as group chief executive, Asia-Pacific.

''In this position, Mr Murray will be responsible for the bank's operations in the region,'' said a statement. He begins his new job in January next year.

''At the bank, Mr Murray will supervise a business dedicated to corporate banking, asset-based and project finance, investment banking activities, and business with financial institutions and private banking clients,'' the statement said.

Deutsche Bank has more than 60 operations active in 17 countries in Asia, from Pakistan to Japan. With assets of US$306 billion at the end of last year, the bank is the 10th largest in the world.
