Cathay in crisis plan

CATHAY Pacific Airways has appointed former assistant chief of security Peter Kedward to the new post of contingency planning manager.

Commercial director Mike Thacker said the new post would involve developing responses to circumstances such as natural or environmental disasters and failure of critical computer systems.

''The ultimate aim is to isolate threat to the company, its staff, customers or property, and ensure that operations are maintained if there is an unforeseen disruption,'' he said.
