It's a scene straight out of the ghetto, with the graffiti-covered train rattling through the night. But now our own MTR is getting its first real taste of the street art - courtesy of McDonald's.
The idea is the brainchild of advertising agency DDB's art director, Joe Wong. The graffiti is by MC Yan, former frontman of recently disbanded local hip hop outfit LMF.
Unsurprisingly, MC Yan was not keen to be publicly associated with this outrageously legal (and, presumably, well-paid) activity, preferring that we not show his face. Whatever.
Wong says: 'McDonalds wants to attract a younger crowd that is edgier, stylish and a bit naughty. We thought that graffiti would give McDonald's and the MTR a younger hip-hop feel. MC Yan is the best graffiti artist in Hong Kong, possibly China as well.'
Wow. Edgy. So what if the graffiti is legal and can be peeled off the train?
