If you're American and into your country's politics, then this might be of interest. The American Democrats Abroad are holding their Asian conference in Hong Kong for the first time this weekend. Sixty-five members from 16 countries will be converging to talk about pressing issues such as China's WTO membership, the valuation of the yuan, and next year's US presidential elections. Speaking via teleconference tonight at 8pm will be none other than General Wesley Clark, who just might be the man to put George Jr in his place. As a presidential candidate he has fantastic credentials, having commanded troops in Vietnam, Kosovo and Bosnia. Michael Ceurvorst, chairman of the Democrats Abroad chapter in Hong Kong, said: 'Holding the conference in Hong Kong has a significant meaning for us. We want to convey the message that Hong Kong is still a very vibrant city with international appeal. This is despite that fact that Japan has four times the members we have.' Unfortunately, the meetings are closed to the public. Only US citizens eligible to vote can participate. For more information, check out www.democratsabroad.org .
