Canadians aim for HK

THE Canadian province of New Brunswick will send its first delegation to the SEARCC '93, to be held in Hong Kong in October.

The delegation will include eight information technology (IT) firms from the province, headed by Economic Development and Tourism Minister Denis Losier.

The New Brunswick delegation includes companies involved in geographic information, training, health care, power plants, telecommunications, and scheduling.

A representative of Softworld '94, Canada's major software trade show which will be held in New Brunswick, will also attend.

New Brunswick, one of Canada's four Atlantic provinces, has, in the past, had an agricultural base, but in recent years it has developed strongly towards IT.

The province is also working in the field of artificial intelligence.

It is developing a space-based pollution measurement and investigating natural language processing tools.
