Schoolboy, 17, arrested over hammer attack
A 17-year-old schoolboy was arrested for allegedly bludgeoning a female neighbour with a hammer in an attempted robbery in Yuen Long yesterday. The boy reportedly told police he needed money to pay his school fees. The attempted robbery happened about 7am when the woman, 20, was waiting for a lift in the 19th-floor lobby of residential block in Sau Fu Street. During the attack the woman shouted for help and neighbours came out and subdued the suspect. She was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital and later discharged.
Police called to school after pupil punches staff
Police were called to a school in Tsing Yi after a 13-year-old pupil allegedly punched three teachers after refusing to perform a science experiment. The incident erupted when the Form Two schoolboy refused to carry out the experiment at Caritas St Joseph Prevocational School in Tsing Luk Street. The female teacher, 25, called in two male teachers, 37 and 42, for help and the boy hit all three, police said. The teachers were treated at Princess Margaret Hospital. Police said no arrest was made because the school did not pursue the case.
Woman arrested for stabbing cheating lover
A woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing her live-in boyfriend in a Tai Kok Tsui flat. The woman, 30, returned to their home in Kok Cheung Street at 1am and found her boyfriend, 33, with another woman. The woman allegedly fetched two knives from the kitchen to attack the man. His female companion, 19, called police. The man was treated for cuts to his arms, chest and waist at Kwong Wah Hospital. The woman was released on $3,000 bail.
