Finishing second by a fraction in last year's competition was a painful lesson for SKH Tang Shiu Kin Secondary School (SKHTSK), and last week the boys showed real character to bounce back and win the Division Three (Hong Kong) title in the inter-school swimming championships at Kowloon Park. 'We won two grade titles last year and still missed promotion, which was hard for the boys,' said SKHTSK coach Chou Wai-hong.
'This year we placed second in Grades B and C and fifth in Grade A, but the overall points total was enough to win,' said Chou, who has been at the school for 15 years.
'The ability is more evenly spread out across the age groups now,' he said.
Top SKHTSK swimmers included Lee Chun-wa, Cheung Siu-laam and Tam Kai-yuen.
The school returns to Division Two after an eight-year absence.
