Lewd, loud and lyrical, - Connolly on his way

HERE'S good news for those who like their humour coarse and served with lashings of vulgarity.

Billy Connolly (and we dearly love him all the same) is now confirmed to raise the roof (and eyebrows?) at the Lyric Theatre on October 11 and 12.

The Scottish comic, who is said to be big Down Under (ie very popular in Australia in case your imagination wandered!) will be arriving here, having given the Aussies a rollicking time over there.

Which should be good news for all his local fans who were disappointed when Connolly called off his scheduled concerts at short notice last year after press reports suggested that he and his wife, comedy actress Pamela Stephenson, were having marital problems.

This particular tour is called Billy Connolly Live, which by the Big Yin's usual standards is pretty tame indeed.

One recalls a previous tour had the inspired title Bite Your Bum.
