Jet-setting beauty queens will no doubt have their sights set on the Prada Beauty Holiday Set ($890, below). Eight mono-doses of high-performance products - two each of Reviving Bio-Firm Moisture, Lightening Gel/Face and Purifying Toner/Face - have been specially selected as daily skincare must-haves when you need to pare down your lotions and potions in order to travel light. What makes the kit most attractive is the Prada satin pouch the products come in, which is available in six innocuous but stylish colours from black to camel. Giorgio Armani Cosmetics' latest project has been to create the perfect lip gloss. Enriched with hydrating oils, Lip Shimmer ($160, above right) offers subtle tint and high shine thanks to the use of light-reflecting mother-of-pearl and pigments. While not screamingly bright, the eight colours don't focus solely on the fashion and beauty house's trademark neutrals and include shades of copper brown, purply pink and burgundy. Two types of flax extract, which have been found to defend the skin against the ravages of time, are the ingredients du jour for Nina Ricci. Containing essential fatty acids such as Omega-3, flax oil hydrates and firms the skin while flax sugar soothes inflamed and stressed-out complexions. The dynamic duo have been used in Ricci's new Skin Replenish Day ($525, right) and Night Creams ($540) and its new Contouring Complexion Fluid ($300) with sun-protection factor 15. This last is effectively a foundation with four different shades each for both pink and beige tones, which aims to be as close as possible to natural skin.
