EMI Virgin has just released a CD - A Musical Postcard from Hong Kong - as a gift for all the special guests and talent of Hong Kong Harbour Fest.

The limited edition CD, which features local as well as international performers, is being given as a souvenir to the visiting Fest artists such as Prince, Craig David, Santana and, of course, the Rolling Stones.

On the back cover are familiar names such as the Hong Kong Jazz Quartet, Celestial (aka Drum), Danny Diaz (pictured) and Ian Widgery, who has restyled traditional Shanghai opera into something very danceable (check out his new CD, Original Shanghai Divas Collection Refined).

'There is life in the music and the concept of this CD will last long after Harbour Fest has disappeared into the sunset,' says Hans Ebert, of EMI Southeast Asia. 'But we need to do more to promote local talent.'

Following this project, EMI will launch another phase in its search for raw, Hong Kong talent. Watch this space for details.
