From drab to fab - gays show straight guys how to be cool
The reality show, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, launches on TVB tomorrow night at 8.30pm. The show centres around a group of gay men, the 'Fab 5', whose mission is to makeover sloppy straight guys into cool, refined sophisticates.
Viewers be warned: you may find the scenes of grown men being plucked and waxed frightening. Besides grooming, they educate the hetero-slobs on food and wine, fashion, culture and interior design - in short, taking them from drab to fab.
TVB is making the show bilingual by installing Cantonese-speaking commentators Eric Kot and Annabelle Liew to keep viewers tuned in.
TVB has also picked a Hong Kong Fab 5 - Craig Au Yeung (food and wine), Winifred Lai (fashion), Peter Wong (culture), Eunice Wong (grooming), and Joey Ho (interior design) - to provide additional comments.
Although it's unlikely they will be quite as camp as their American counterparts.
