THE Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have warned South China and Dalian not to make any more changes in dates for their first round Asian Cup-Winners' Championship clash, writes Unus Alladin.
In a strongly-worded statement released yesterday, the AFC said if Dalian cannot accept the first leg being played on October 11 in Hong Kong and the second leg on October 15 in Dalian - dates South China had suggested - they would consider giving a walkover to the Hong Kong team.
The AFC said the teams have until September 15 to confirm the dates.
The two-legged clash was originally scheduled to be completed in August but both clubs have made numerous requests for date changes.
The AFC are clearly frustrated with the delays and general secretary Peter Velappan said: ''We cannot drag these matches any longer. We want to save the competition. The dates are final.''
