Jockey Douglas Whyte and trainer John Moore lead the respective jockey and trainer standings in Hong Kong this season and when they team up, it regularly yields a winner.
It was certainly the case for aptly named Key To Success on his first attempt over the 1,200 metres on the all-weather track last time and, given the ease of that victory under top weight of 133 pounds, there is every chance the gelding can keep his unbeaten course and distance record intact and take out the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Cup tonight.
Key To Success, a son of Geiger Counter, clearly relishes the dirt and although he tackles stronger opposition here, is competitively weighted this time round. If anything, he's made further progress in the fitness department.
The other bonus for Key To Success is that he has natural early speed, and the ability to settle just behind the likely leaders, who are always difficult to catch on the all-weather surface.
There are several runners with winning form over the course and distance that are capable of leading on any given day, but Honour Supreme is probably the most likely. He has clocked the fastest time of any runner in this line-up over the trip, when beating Flying General last time in 1:08.1. He has pace to burn and given the allowance for apprentice Paul Lo Pak-hin, will not be easy to catch.
Victory Marble, Run And Win and V-Can all could apply pressure. The former is having his first attempt on the dirt but is bred to handle this surface, being a son of Rahy (USA) out of Lady O'Lyph, a mare with a pure North American pedigree.
