Tse Kam-yuen, 42, denied two counts of possession of a dangerous drug for trafficking. He is being tried by a jury before Mr Justice Bewley.

Crown Counsel Kevin Zervos, in his opening address, told the court that customs officers on duty at Sau Mau Ping Estate on the evening of December 21, 1991, noticed a man and a woman walking towards a car park.

They were joined by Tse, who was holding a handbag. When the three emerged from an alley near a primary school, Tse was also carrying a brown bag.

They got into a taxi and asked the driver to take them to Junk Bay.

When they came to a police road block, Tse told the driver to avoid it because he did not have his identity card with him, Mr Zervos said.
