Earnings forecasts for this financial year to 2005 have been cut by 4 to 5 per cent due to an accelerating decline in revenues per minute for cellular, long-distance and data businesses and increasing margin pressure for GSM business.  The target price for the mobile operator has been raised to $6.30 from $5.60. As the new target is still below the current price, and with the stock trading at higher earnings multiples than China Mobile and China Telecom, the 'underweight' rating is left unchanged.

Since its  debut on the main board on October 31, the fashion retailer has benefited from ample liquidity focused on newly listed companies, gaining 29 per cent. However, as it is now trading at 16 times last year's earnings, 'it is overpriced compared with its local peers', analyst Carrie Chan said. She has downgraded her recommendation to 'sell' from 'buy', but left the target price unchanged at $12.

Recently obtained international airport status should  help attract more  global airlines and Hainan Meilan has posted strong traffic growth in recent months. Going forward, positive news flow would be a catalyst for share price gains, analyst  Liu Yun said. Mr Liu is initiating coverage with a target price based on 15 times next year's earnings - a 30 per cent discount to  rival Beijing Capital International Airport.
