Hong Kong is known for cranking out a substantial amount of cheese from its Canto-pop machine (aka our entertainment industry).

It turns out that we are not alone. According to Empire magazine, Hollywood churns out its fair share of cheese, and it has not gone completely unnoticed.

Here is a list of the magazine's top 10 cheesiest moments: Independence Day - When the US president says: 'Today we celebrate our independence day.' Top Gun - When Iceman says to Maverick: 'You can be my wingman anytime.' The Karate Kid - which part wasn't? Four Weddings and a Funeral - When Hugh Grant says: 'Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed.' Pearl Harbour - When Kate Beckinsale sits reading a love letter while the sun is setting. Stepmom - The singalong with the children. The Postman - The blind woman who tells Kevin Costner: 'You're a Godsend, a saviour', to which he replies, 'No, I'm just the postman'. An Officer and a Gentleman - Richard Gere carries Debra Winger out of the factory. Patch Adams - the entire movie. Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones - Anakin Skywalker's wooing of Princess Amidala.
