LEE Tam Yuen-kwan was one of Hong Kong's happiest women last night - after giving away $600,000.

Office messenger Mrs Lee was on a bus in Shamshuipo when she found a bundle of US and Hong Kong banknotes wrapped in newspaper that had been left on her seat.

But recalling how miserable she had felt when her wallet was lost recently, she handed the money over to the police.

''There was a lot of money but I never thought of keeping it - I believe one will be rewarded for good deeds and revenged for bad deeds,'' said the 38-year-old mother of two.

Mrs Lee was on her way to Jordan to deliver some documents yesterday morning when the drama began.

She said: ''Two people sitting in front of me got off at Mongkok so I decided to move from my seat in the aisle to take theirs by the window.

''I found a dark-purple coloured plastic bag with a bundle inside as big as a telephone wrapped in newspaper.'' Curiosity got the better of her and she opened the bundle to peek inside.
