Product: Sony Ericsson P900 Price: $5,680 Pros: Smaller and lighter than the P800, it features several small software and hardware improvements Cons: Small memory size

Sony Ericsson has updated its popular P800 smart phone with the P900, a slimmer model at 117x57x27mm. The phone is 28g lighter than its predecessor, weighing 130g. This makes it a little heavier than the Sendo X, which is also a Symbian-based smartphone.

The P900 features a redesigned keypad, so it is easier to key in numbers.

The phone is already available through parallel import shops for nearly $5,000 but is not yet officially on sale at the carriers here.

It has an improved VGA digital camera which takes good-quality pictures. The handset is equipped with the BST-15 - the same battery as the P800.

Operating time has not changed considerably, despite the higher-resolution display. On average, the phone operates for about two days and other functions can be used for up to 45 minutes. If you constantly use Bluetooth, operating time for the phone will be reduced to a day. It takes about two hours for a full recharge.
