A minibus stands burned out in Cheung Sha Wan after it was intercepted last night by three men armed with knives who attacked the driver and set the vehicle alight.

The attackers, two of whom wore facemasks, ordered the 10 passengers off the minibus before they launched the attack on driver Tsang Ting-kwong, 32.

They then set fire to the vehicle and fled in a silver-coloured saloon car which they had used to force the bus off the road.

A taxi passenger saw the injured driver on the roadside shortly after 8pm and took him to the Caritas Medical Centre, where he was in a serious condition last night with knife wounds to his back and arms.

The attackers are believed to be aged between 30 and 35.

Detectives are not ruling out the possibility that it was a triad-related attack. They are also investigating whether the criminal activity is connected with the route, which is from Muk Shue to Mongkok.
