The Hong Kong Football Academy is organising a Christmas holiday camp for children aged five to 12 years to improve their soccer skills, while helping them to have fun through football-related games and matches. The three-day soccer camps will be held concurrently at King George V School and Discovery Bay Marina Club from December 22-24 and December 29-31. The programme consists of a variety of activities including technical and tactical training, specific drills, fun games and matches. Children who join the scheme can expect to receive expert instruction by highly qualified and experienced coaches, as well as have fun through football-related games. The camps finish with soccer competitions and an awards ceremony, where medals and certificates, as well as commemorative gifts, will be presented. 'Coaches will determine the speed and intensity at which the coaching is given and will ensure all participants take full advantage of the various indoor and outdoor facilities at the camp locations,' said academy director Edward Fordham. Selected players will have the opportunity to join the academy's advanced programme, which has seen 14 of its members invited to join youth academies of professional clubs overseas.
