With one child-free pool, one family pool (next to the children's club, where sleep-overs can be arranged for parents wanting a night off), and a pool for all, the Evason Phuket caters to couples and families.
The resort is large (it has 301 guest rooms and villas), but there are enough facilities to allow you to escape other guests. It has its own private island, which is a 15-minute boat ride, where guests can spend a day. The honeymoon suite can be rented overnight, and offers total privacy (except for the personal butler and chef, who are the only other islanders).
The resort's design avoids the more traditional Thai decor in favour of a contemporary look where white sand concrete dominates, beginning at the resort's tunnel entrance which opens on four wood pavilions 'floating' on a pond, the hotel's check-in and check-out area.
The 'tunnel' effect is echoed in one of the restaurants, Into Fusion, and the orange and purple soft furnishings against dark wooden furniture make it a funky dining venue. The puddings are especially good, and include some 40 varieties of home-made ice-cream and sorbets.
A two-level bar, Into Spirits, overlooks the Andaman Sea. Thai food is served at Into Thai, and pizzas and tapas are available at Into the Beach, which sits on the beach. The resort also has an extensive wine cellar of more than 300 wines, and wine tastings with the hotel's sommelier are a weekly event.
The trade mark of all Evason properties is the Six Senses spa treatment (sight, sound, touch, taste and smell, and the sixth being the sensory experience of a Six Senses Spa). Pampering and healing therapies to balance mind and body are the order of the day.
The spa has six treatment rooms, plus three designed for couples, and another four treatment areas in salas on the spa's terrace, which overlooks the sea.
