An under-18 team from Hong Kong will contest the second Asian Schools Boys' Volleyball Championships at Kowloon Park Sports Centre next week.
Eight teams, namely China, India, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and hosts Hong Kong, will take part in the competition which was originally scheduled to be held in July, but was put off because of the Sars outbreak.
The teams will be divided into two groups of four with the top two sides in each section qualifying for the semi-finals after a round-robin competition.
Hong Kong are in Group A, along with Macau, Sri Lanka and India, while Group B consists of China, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Hong Kong, China Olympic Committee President, Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, presented the local boys with a Bauhinia flag at a ceremony last week.
The team, who have been training regularly since January, includes several members of the Jing Ying (All-Hong Kong) champions, PLK Tang Yuk Tien College.
