Careless driving keeps star off the road for six months
Canto-pop star Nicholas Tse Ting-fung yesterday lost his driving licence for six months after pleading guilty to one charge of careless driving.
The celebrity appeared at a Tsuen Wan court packed with paparazzi, and admitted responsibility for wrecking a lawyer's car in June last year.
He was convicted and fined $4,000 and disqualified from driving for six months.
The accident occurred on the morning of June 29 last year as Tse was driving to Chek Lap Kok airport to catch a flight to Malaysia.
As he travelled along the North Lantau Highway, his $950,000, turbo-charged blue Audi S4 hit a Mercedes-Benz.
Tse and the driver of the Mercedes, surnamed Hung, as well as two other lawyers in the Mercedes - William Kuo and Paul Tan Chuen-yan - were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital in Kwai Chung.
Tse suffered head and facial injuries and spent the night under observation in intensive care. Wearing a neck brace, he was discharged the next day and flew to Malaysia to film a commercial.
