A MUSICIAN was sentenced to a drug addiction training centre yesterday for possession of the drug ''ice''. Noel Abenir, 24, pleaded guilty to possessing 14.71 grams of the drug in November last year at Nam King Guest Villa, Jordan Road, Yau Ma Tei. Prosecuting on a fiat, Paul Loughran told the District Court there were no guidelines from the Court of Appeal on sentencing for possession of ''ice'', only for trafficking in the drug. He pointed out there were many authorities for possession of heroin, a drug less addictive than ''ice''. The court was asked to consider the fact that Abenir had pleaded guilty and was not a ''deep-rooted'' addict.
