One of the arrested men was on the wanted list for an $8 million robbery in Wan Chai almost two years ago.
Police apprehended the two after spotting them acting suspiciously at the junction of Fook Tak and Fook Hong Street in Yuen Long.
When the officers approached the pair, they were seen throwing something into nearby bushes.
A search of the area resulted in the seizure of a pistol loaded with seven rounds of ammunition.

Police have linked Thursday's bank raid in Cameron Road with the $8 million hold-up in a Wan Chai money exchange in November 1991 because of similarities between the two crimes.
