900 join aircraft fire drill at Chek Lap Kok More than 900 people took part in an aircraft fire drill at the airport. A fire was simulated on an Airbus 330 provided by Cathay Pacific and the 100 'passengers' on board were evacuated. Fifty-two of them were 'injured'. The exercise involved all the major emergency services. A group of about 30 journalism students from Chinese University and Baptist University also participated by forming a press corps covering the event. Three arrested after flat burglaries Three suspected burglars were arrested after alert neighbours called the police. Neighbours found two flats at Cheong Fat Building in Yau Ma Tei had been broken into at 10am. They chased the suspects while alerting the police, who arrested the trio nearby. A fourth suspect managed to escape. At least $25,000 worth of goods were stolen, police said. Family trio jailed for tax evasion Three members of a family were jailed for two months and fined $100,000 for tax evasion. Brothers Tsang Ka-yui, 57, and Tsang Ka-wing, 52, and Fung Lai-sheung, 47, the younger brother's wife, all pleaded guilty to charges that they set up bogus tenants and joint accounts to avoid paying property taxes of $6.8 million between 1995 and 2000. Arson suspects in custody Police officers arrested two arson suspects soon after they allegedly torched a house in Chuen Lung, near Tsuen Wan. The house was petrol-bombed at 10pm on Thursday and the suspects fled by car. Police stopped the car in Fanling and arrested two men.
