1 Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick
'This is my favourite Stanley Kubrick film. I did not see it until 1995, when my friend got me a tape from overseas. He said that although this was an old film, it looked like one to be made in the future. I didn't quite understand what he meant at the time. Having watched it, I realised that both the story-telling and filming technique are ground-breaking, and it will never be outdated. I particularly love the aesthetic beauty of it. I decorated my house in the same style as this film's art direction.'
2 The Bridge on the River Kwai by David Lean
'When I was a child, I thought it was an ordinary war film. But since I started working in movies, I have watched this film from time to time. When you are at work, you are always told to do things that you don't want to do, and you get upset by it. Life in a big corporation is like that of soldiers in an army. You might not like what your boss tells you to do. You just have to keep doing it, but never forget to fight for your dignity.'
3 Apocalypse Now by Francis Coppola
