There is a changing of the guard at the Intercontinental Hotel. Managing director Jennifer Fox is leaving Hong Kong after spearheading the hotel's huge transformation, as well as the launch of Spoon by Alain Ducasse in October. She will move to London, where she has been promoted to senior vice-president. Filling Fox's shoes is Jean-Jacques Reibel, who ran the Willard Intercontinental Hotel, near the White House. 'I am so excited to be here,' he says. 'Hong Kong is the best city in Asia.' A smile spreads across his face as he looks out the window in Spoon. It's not a bad gig for the Frenchman who has been denied Ducasse's gourmet meals for 17 years.'
