DRESSED in plastic bags from head to toe and carrying a chain of knotted plastic bags and placards, members of Friends of the Earth yesterday marched from Wan Chai to Central to protest over the 15 million plastic bags Hong Kong people throw away every day. With the convenor of the Legislative Council's Environmental Affairs Panel, Peter Wong Hong-yuen, 30 members marched to a Park'N Shop and a Wellcome supermarket, where they handed petitions to management. The group called on the supermarkets to charge for plastic bags.
