It seems dotcom is no longer a vital entity for CNN Asia. After promising synergy between the TV side and the dotcom side, the media giant continues to buckle under pressure and is sacking more staff.
Three years ago, a bustling staff of 30 manned and launched the operation with the promise of great careers, but, five by five, they were let go.
And just as the storm seemed to be passing - with the recovery in the US starting to happen - the dotcom side still seems to be hurting.
Just last week, the media giant whittled away more of its dotcom staff to a dismal three. The only silver lining was that those let go were given five months' severance pay.
And the delivery was not exactly the most sympathetic either, with two of the staff overseas on holiday, and one told via speaker phone. The least they could have done was do it live via videophone.
