Police seize $2.84m haul of Ice in hotel raid

Police have seized 8kg of Ice with a street value of $2.84 million - the biggest single haul of the drug in Hong Kong, says the Narcotics Bureau.

In two raids, bureau officers arrested four suspects who are due to appear in court today.

The 13kg of seized drugs included Ice and cannabis with a total value of $3.2 million. The drugs were found separately in two operations on Saturday.

Police arrested three suspects at a hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. Police said the suspects were carrying 8kg of Ice when they were arrested in the hotel lobby about 1pm.

The drugs were concealed inside packages of Chinese tea in a shopping bag.

Narcotics Bureau officers said the haul of Ice was their largest single seizure this year.
