Nublu Sessions
(Ultra)
When Wax Poetic first came together to record their debut album in 1997, the temporary collective drew on some of New York's best session musicians and sound-studio knob-twiddlers, and found some truly talented vocalists to add to the mix. Jazz, dance and dub reggae covered the musical repertoire.
This latest cut oozes a tighter signature sound and reflects the fact that Wax Poetic is now a fully formed outfit, spearheaded by former jazz-session saxophonist and keyboards player Ilhan Ersahin.

There is a new Latin-American flavour on a couple of tracks on this album, after Ersahin's recent visits to Brazil. And one, recorded in Istanbul, acknowledges his Turkish descent.
