Parklife still sounds like 1994 London - buzzing, confident and full of good humour. Blur were the main London contender for the Britpop crown, while Manchester's Oasis were northern England's challenger.
Hardcore fans may not cite this as the band's 'best' album, but it catapulted them to the top of the UK charts. The previous album, Modern Life Is Rubbish, set the tone, with lead singer Damon Albarn already taking cocky 'mockney' Cockney swipes at British social habits.

Blur change their sound as often as they puts out new releases. Parklife was their pop album, full of unashamedly catchy tunes.
