Renowned Italian car manufacturer Ferrari has teamed up with luxury pen maker Montegrappa to create 4,000 handcrafted pens in sterling silver or 18-carat gold, which made their debuts recently at exclusive pen and jewellery shops worldwide. The fountain, rollerball or ballpoint pens cost from 1,000 to 3,500 euros (HK$9,630 to HK$33,700) and come in Ferrari's trademark red or the company's traditional colour, yellow. All feature the prancing Ferrari horse, hand-engraved by Montegrappa craftsmen in silver or gold. The first customer to snap up the sleek new implements? Ferrari's Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher, who commissioned a collection of Montegrappa pens for his personal use.
