Government non-means tested loan: For students with right of abode in Hong Kong, or those living continuously in Hong Kong three years before course commencement. Students enrolled in full-time courses approved by the Local Student Finance Scheme are also eligible. Loans vary according to eligibility but are capped at the level of tuition fees payable. Scholarships: These include the Sir Edward Youde Memorial, available to disabled and research students, and for overseas studies; the University of Birmingham Hong Kong Scholarships, available to selected candidates studying a one-year masters degree at the university; and the Sir Robert Black Trust Fund, available to certain postgraduate students. Continuing Education Fund: Subsidised funding of 80 per cent (up to the value of $10,000) is available for some Master of Arts and Master of Science programmes in the areas of business, logistics, finance, China interest and design.
