After previous offerings including 1999's Enema Of The State, Blink 182 have chosen to leave their latest album, showcasing their new, mature sound, untitled. The album proves how much the three-man band have grown up in the way they handle their lyrics and music. This may be something to do with their changes in lifestyle - all three recently became fathers. Feeling This, the first track and also the first single, is a good energetic opener for the album, while I Miss You, which is about how much a man misses his lover, is the best track on the CD. Although most of the songs remain guitar-driven, acoustic guitar, piano and spoken word also contribute to their new sound. A drawback of the album is that the cover booklet is too fancy. Lyrics are placed horizontally, vertically and in different fonts, which makes it difficult to read. But over all, the album is a success. Blink 182 has demonstrated that it is not just a scrappy pop-punk band, but capable of making music to last.
