IDENTIFYING staff personality with well-designed software is an efficient way of reining in staff turnover, says a management consultant.
Movement of staff is high in the territory, and companies see a great need to reduce it.
''The system will either save you money or make you money. It has a direct impact on the economic efficiency of the organisation,'' said Thomas International Management Systems managing director Brian Richardson.
The personality tester aimed to determine the behavioural strengths of a person relative to the job they were or would be doing, Mr Richardson said.
It helped companies recruit the most compatible candidates and brought out the best in its employees.
He said it could reduce the chance of a mismatch between a job and the personality of the worker doing it - the main reason for many employees leaving their jobs.
Research conducted in Britain has revealed that about 85 per cent of reasons given for people leaving their jobs relate to the job's nature and the work environment, including incompatibility with the boss and the organisation's culture.
