When you are writing a story that contains dialogue, it becomes very boring if you use he/she said each time someone speaks. Here are some verbs you can use instead.

To mumble (to speak unclearly); to shout (to speak loudly and suddenly); to whisper (to speak very very softly); to gasp (to speak breathlessly); to wail (to make long, loud, high-pitched cries); to croak (to speak with a deep, hoarse sound like a frog); to murmur (to speak in a continuous soft voice)

Can you replace 'said' in the following sentences with a more descriptive verb?

1. 'I am not going to go away,' he said at the top of his voice.

2. 'I don't know the answer,' he said quietly.

3. 'I will never forget what you have just done,' she said so that he could just hear her.
